​When I first started training people professionally over a decade ago, I thought that my clients' success would be built purely on my technical knowledge. I received an Exercise Science degree from Temple University, learned better technique, programming, nutrition, etc. And still, with all of that knowledge, I found my clients having trouble getting to where they wanted to be. It took me a couple years to realize what was going on. I was having trouble connecting with them in a way that made them feel comfortable with change. This was the greatest realization I've had as a trainer.​​​​

I started training to help people find a healthier, and oftentimes happier, version of themselves. Of all of the reasons to train with me, I think the most common, and probably most important, is for accountability. I've become very good at providing accountability in a way that doesn't feel "drill-sergeanty". I am going to challenge you, but in a realistic way that actually yields results. Again, the path of least resistance. What is the point of challenging you if it isn't actually going to yield positive results?

One of the questions that I ask everybody during our intro session is "what is your experience with exercise?" Many state that they've had a trainer in the past, fell out of routine, and are hoping to get back into it. To that I typically respond with "awesome, what kind of programming were you doing together?" to which many respond with something like "nothing really, we were just working out."

Don't just "work out." Work out with an intelligent plan and a purpose. That is what I'm here for. I create a plan for when we train together and also for days that you're training on your own. It all needs to be cohesive. We execute that plan together, track our progress through available metrics, reassess, replan, redo, etc. This is how change happens over the long term, and I'm here alongside you to help take those steps.
